Whether the Auditor is the Definitive Choice for the Job?
To achieve a level of certification in any discipline requires the applicant to complete a level of training and experience that qualifies them to practice with minimal risk to their customers. For example, a physician must have a specialized training college, followed by a post-graduate training and experience before attaining the social status and be allowed to practice (interesting word in this context) in the general population. Even after this barrier the same doctor is required to be more obstacles before it can expand its activities beyond the original scope.
All this is reasonable, and generally ensures that our health is safe and secure under the watchful eye of the accreditation system. But what about our listeners?
It is a fact that apart from certain areas of expertise – including the financing is typical – people can create their company as auditors trained and entitled to continue in the same manner as a qualified partner. However, this is not the issue here. My concern is that listeners in spite of all the specialized training of auditors, because auditors are not only at work.
Increasingly, customers certification bodies (registration) are not satisfied with the performance of auditors, whose services have to pay. For many, the continued registration of your organization with minimal inconvenience is not enough. Training of auditors not be adequately contained within the training and experience of conditions on registration.
ISO 17024 is to establish a mechanism to objectively measure the competition. By clearly defining the performance requirements and skills that created the opportunity to provide a starting point in the process of certification of accounts, the possible elimination of the accreditation process with the potential listeners are not sufficient capacity management Corporate and education.
The complaints against registered auditors are mostly (90%) related to the conduct of the Auditor on the site, rather than their personal skills or knowledge.
The difficulty of improving the quality of auditor reporting is largely on the definitions of auditor, usually represented by ISO9001, where competition is defined as the ability to apply knowledge and skills. Training therefore focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and skills for the auditor’s work, as perceived by organizations for registration.
Basically what is needed is a set of psychometric tests to eliminate potential listeners with no real experience, ability or inclination of audits that are applicable and useful to the organization where they work. To create these tests require a deep understanding of the necessary attributes of an effective auditor, and it is unlikely that the registrar or auditor registration bodies try to explore this area.
